Just remind them that we pulled out of the race for Sol Campbell after we signed Titus Bramble, thus freeing up the opportunity for them to move in for him.
There's some deluded people out there who are enjoying the fact they've apparently "stolen" Campbell and Gosling from us...

“I think that's it for Sol. We had a chat with him and we talked about it, but we've got a better deal with Titus coming in. We're not looking to sign Sol Campbell anymore."

Guys they are hardly decent signings for either club! We might have slightly got the better deal, there again at least Campbell knows what it's like to have been there and done it. Titus is a journeyman, and we are next on his list of wage payers. I don't think it looks too good for the North East in the premier league this season....

Titus isn't a journeyman, we are only his fourth club in 12 years. Bruce had the chance to get him for peanuts (as he did with Turner last season) and he went for it. He knows the lad, trusts him, and believes he will be decent cover for Mensah.
He was signed by Bobby Robson (who knows a player when he sees one) and he impressed during his early years at Sid James's until injury's and Glenn Roeder came along.
Bit of a shaky start at Wigan until Bruce got hold of him and straightened him out. He was solid last season.
While his medal haul isn't as impressive as Campbell's, Titus has experience of being at a club chasing the top four and playing in Europe. Sol might have been there and done it, but the bloke is a nutter and will fit in well up the road.
While I'm not saying Titus is as bad or better than the Campbell, we'll be fine.
