This guy is the reason we will not be relegated.

Fantastic coup by SAFC. Enuff said :)

First player since Marcus Stewart v Watford in 2005 to score a hatrick, and first SAFC player to score a premier league hatrick in 9 years after Phillips v Bradford.

Now with 18 goals, only Kevin Phillips has scored more across one premier league season than Bent (Quinn only ever reached 14).

Are my stats right, Bent has 19 for the season including the cup?

I know its a team game, but we are so lucky to have a striker who can take his chances regularly.

Capello are you watching?
As an England fan too I want him playing for my other team too but its not gonna happen :(

Good to finally hear a cheer at the end of the game instead of boo's!

For me Bent has to be a certainty for the World Cup, he's a clinical striker and always takes his chances.

Unfortunately I doubt he will go though, and Capello needs his head shaking.

I find it hard to believe Benty might (probably wont) not be on ther plane to South Africa.
But Fabio must see Bent as a similar player to Defoe and wants a variety of different striking options which you can understand.

Rooney, Defoe, and Crouch are no doubt in the squad, and Capello likes Heskey and Cole so Bent's chances are certainly slim but if he can score a load of goals between now and May it wont just be SAFC fans calling for him to be picked, itll be the whole country!

Guys don't get carried away. I agree Bent is going to be the difference in us staying up but he's nowhere near the England squad for a reason - he's simply not good enough. If you are seriously saying he's better than Defoe then you are drunk on the high of the result! He does for us, but he left a bigger club because he wasn't needed or good enough. Accept it!

Thank God for that result though!

Yeah because Capello rates that useless plank of wood who goes by the name of Emile Heskey.
Spends most of the game on his backside and hardly ever scores a goal.
Heskey should not even be considered to play for England
