now then bcf,

i dont agree whith it at all especialy from kick off 5min in to the game,do you think the players need that
type of support considering the bad run where having, not likely there lacking confidence pride and passion at
this moment of time.
the last thing we need is safc supporters not gettng behind the players if where playing good or sh.. its not
helping the situation where in at all.
if your not happy whith the perfomance leave the booing whatever to the end of the game.
what we need to do is get behind them from start to finish and push them on all the way, just my opinion each
for there own ;)

The worrying aspect of all this is, its not just a few but a fair proportion of the crowd thats letting vent to their spleen so early in the game.
Its seems a far cry from "the good old days", and if the general view of Sunderland supporters is to act in this way, then the only conclusion to their behaviour is RELEGATION.
If it was only a "few" nutters-you wouldnt even comment on the problem.
At the moment Sunderland supporters are the worst in England

It's basically a group of corpses that sit at the match and say "entertain me". They seem to want the team to fail and get great pleasure and saying "I told you so".

"Points of View has been cancelled, I know, I'll go to the SoL."

If I was a player I'd hate to play in-front of our fans. I can understand why the players are scared to do anything wrong - why they just get rid of the ball - as one mistake and the fans are straight on their backs.

We used to pride ourselves on intimidating the opposition with Prokofiev and the noise generated by 40,000 frenzied Mackems. Now, all we do is intimidate our own players.

A view from the other side of the world - I find it bit saddening to read this kind of stuff about Sunderland supporters and now hear it on TV in the many live games that I'm lucky enough to be able to watch in Australia.

I've been a supporter all my life through family connections to the city. Until more recent years (satellite TV, internet forums etc) it was hard to get much more than scores and occasional articles in magazines about SAFC. Because of my isolation I've probably held a bit a romantic or even old fashioned view of Sunderland fans as being the best - dedicated, knowledgeable about the game, hard but fair judges and willing to give anyone in the red & white stripes a fair go as long as they gave 100% for the club.

This bad run on field seems to be bringing out the worst in some "fans" and unfortunately it is affecting my (admittedly biased) view of our fans. I hope we get some good results soon otherwise the downward spiral could continue. As Chris said "If I was a player I'd hate to play in-front of our fans. I can understand why the players are scared to do anything wrong".

I am still confident that our quality will get us out of trouble soon and back to winning ways. With a bit of luck we won't even be talking about this topic in a few weeks. Ha'way the Lads!

I think a large part of the problem is that expectation levels were/are so high especially with the great start we had, then when we go on a run like we are currently, a lot of supporters get frustrated. I absolutely detest booing but I think it seems to be getting a part of the game these days, all clubs with an expectation level suffer from boo boys when things go tits up.

It's a shame, there's no doubt about that and it's certainly not helping things. Given that we aren't going to pick up more than a handful of points on the road for the rest of this season, we really need to be on the ball at home. I think if a real relegation scrap gets underway [we've always been a few points clear and results seem to be going our way at the moment] and winning at home becomes absolutely vital that the fans will group together and really get behind the team.

At the moment I think the boo-ing reflects the side having desparately underachieved this season and the arrogance that we won't go down [despite 9 league points in 16 games].

We shall see.

I can't believe we have fans who want to boo so early, in fact at all. That is not support- despite our poor run we are still far better placed than for many a year.If anyone around me boo they get a piece of my mind - and half a pukka pie down their neck. They should be evicted from the stadium Support - they couldnt spell it. Boo is much easier!Get out of the SOL we don't need you. I bet they are all early leavers as well!!!!
30minutes and 30 seconds and Porterfield has scored for Sunderland - Unbelievable. (BUT TRUE)
