"This is our club" "These are our people"
No doubt about it - but really everybody, stop skirting the issues. Trust the truth and state the truth - it does not pay to be blind and blinkered.
If he ever had it in the 1st place, Bruce has lost it. That's for sure.

On Thursday we hear that Ellis Short continues to give Steve Bruce his full support (is that the same as the dreaded vote of confidence)?
Then Ellis attends the game on Sat,his first for quite some time and not a pleasant experience.
Then what do we read in the Sunday press? Steve Bruce quote:-"The one thing I am not going to do is give up.I have never given anything up in my life.
Sounds like SB has been exposed to the side of our illustrious owner that was once to befell Mr Keane.
The difference is SB is made of much stronger stuff and won't jump ship, well not yet anyway.
But make no mistake this Short Geezer is a tough cookie who made it quite clear at the start of the season that he did'nt expect us to be in another relegation battle this season...but we are.
In a nutshell if we don't beat Portsmouth on Tuesday this guys patience will have just about run out and SB will be in for a very rough ride.

Probably keeping them all hounest or maybe just here in a time when we need support- checking-out new players??
He may be reminding everyone who is actually in-charge with his presence- Quinn says he's aloud to run the club affairs but we all know that in life the person holding the purse-strings, ultimately has the last say.
I'd say there would of been a big 'sit-down' together over the last couple of days to discuss matters @ hand.
Glad he didn't send Martina along this time anyway.

Ellis was concerned by our performances, but Keane never walked because of them. He went because he felt an owner should not stick his nose in the manager's business. Short tried to call him after the Bolton game and Keane went AWOL.
Then there was the unrest in the dressing room, not turning up for training, refusing to travel with the squad to Blackburn - he had become a law unto himself and Short saw right through it.
It's different under Bruce - Short has been totally supportive and if there were any problems following the Wigan game they would have come out in the wash.
We saw in the second half yesterday when the lads came out that the desire is there - Bruce has not lost the dressing room. When we scored you could feel the relief and suddenly everyone wanted the ball, trying things and driving forward but unfortunately we lost our momentum with Jordan's injury and if that hadn't happened we would have won it.

I said roughly the same thing to my mate at the match yesterday. I thought it was just me. My mate reckons I'm paranoid. Looks like there's at least two of us!
Like you said. Short appears to be the no nonsense type at what we are ebing served up at the minute is crap.
I'd stick with Bruce to be honest but I'm not the chairman.

Portsmouth is probably Bruce's biggest game as Sunderland's manager.
We've stopped the losing run and are unbeaten in 2 league games, giving the lads confidence going into our match against bottom of the league. We need to win it.
I think Short will save any discussions with Bruce till after this game, but if we lose it then Bruce will be getting a very tough time from Short, I dont think he'll be sacked but Short will tell him whats what. And so he should actually, he's spent a lot of money on the club and we should be performing better than we are. Hopefully though he'll have enough sense to see sacking Bruce would only create more problems than it would solve.
