This is a cruel blow for young Jordan- I've just read it's an ankle- Bruce's comments on S.A.F.C.com says 'it's up like a balloon & we maybe talking months'!

Hard lines on the lad & typical of the injury-run of late- just when a settled team was starting to look likely & an area of the pitch we have lacked quality that Henderson was able to provide, it also takes away competitive cover for CM - that's the 2nd time he's delivered for Jones to score with his head & was probably not the last until now...it sounds as if he may of been able to link with Hutton quite well too.

Speedy recovery Hendo- we need ya!!

now then s-c,
just our look mate sounds like he had a good game and was playing well, until he went off with injury, thats been the biggest problem since we played arsenal injuries and its cost us dearly in the league.
sounds like hendo and hutton played well together today, lucks not on our side at the moment and the last thing we need is more injuries.
good to see kj pull his socks up and score from hendersons pass.

I hope it's not too bad with him. I think he had a good game today, playing really well with Hutton on that right side.
The left side was the weak one today, with Reid not performing as we could of hoped.
It wasn't the biggest surprise that Wigan's goal also came from our left side, after a terrible pass from Cana, by the way.
I hope Henderson is fit again soon.

Steve Bruce: "He has a badly twisted ankle and it doesn't look good for him. He'll have tests and scans tomorrow so we pray it isn't too serious."

Henderson was non existent in the first half, left his post on the right wing too often looking for the ball in midfield and left Hutton exposed.

Better in the second half - his injury was the worst thing that could have happened - for the team and the boy. He was starting to look the player most likely to make things happen, he'll be out for a while but it also completely stopped our momentum.

The link up with Hutton is the main factor the right hand side played well. Now I wonder if Hutton is just what Malbranque has been missing since Chimbonda. Would you give them a chance to shine against Pompey?
Get well soon Henderson

From where I was yesterday I couldnt see what happened but have seen it on GoS this a.m. & its very nasty. The defender caught him full on the ankle & it folded under him. To me it looked like ankle ligaments must have been damaged so it could be a long lay off. Get well soon son, we need you.

He has to give Malbranque and Hutton a go - to be honest, we've got no-one else.

Exactly right Chris we have no choice but to play Steed but I can't say I'm happy about it.
Henderson's injury might not be as bad as first feared and will only properly show up when the swelling goes down.

But at best he's going to be out for a couple of months and it's just our luck for this to happen now.

I'm racking my brains over this and can't think of any alternative than to play Malbranque, thing is do we start then substitute him or use him as a sub as he rarely plays the full 90?

Would have to be Malbranque & Campbell- both lacking quality in areas- shame you can't combine the 2.
