Typical Transfer deadline day. There wasnt even a mention of the lad yesterday then this morning Wayne Bridge arrives on Wearside and agrees a loan deal until the end of the season.

Bridge was once regarding one of the best LB's in the Premiership but his career has stalled at City with injuries and lack of form.

Here's hoping Martin O'Neill's reputation of getting the best out of players continues with the 31 year old.

Rather funny that Steve Bruce spent 2 and half years at SAFC looking at a LB and MON has snapped one up in a few month! :wtf:

Good luck and can't wait to see him in action....

Opinions?

Wayne Bridge is looking to help Sunderland progress up the table after completing his deadline day loan move from Manchester City.
The 31-year-old former England international could make his debut in Wednesday night's Premier League clash with Norwich at the Stadium of Light.
The player, who has only one appearance and 78 minutes of football to his name this season to date, has been impressed by the positivity at the club and hopes to play his part in pushing Martin O'Neill's side on.
He told SAFC TV: "I'm delighted to make the move. I have met the manager and the lads and everyone seems great.
"I'm just excited to start playing football and playing a few games. The club is on the up - the manager has come in and done very well.

"Just coming in and speaking to him, everything has been positive. I have trained with the lads and they are a great bunch who are feeling really positive.
"Hopefully I can help the club progress even more."
Bridge's only game this season came in a Carling Cup third round tie against Birmingham on 21st September, and he admitted he cannot wait to get started on Wearside.
He added: "I'm grateful for the chance and want to go out and work hard.
"I have looked at the fixtures and this month's quite busy with a game every few days. That's going to be good for me."

Not a bad signing, although I am sure we could have done better than to be paying £65k a week of his wages whilst he's here! OK player, but has really aged bad and worryingly lacks pace for me. I wish him well but can't get excited about this one either.

Is that true that we're paying 65k a wk ? If so, how do you know?

Robanner and Blackcatfish,

Man City pays him 90K/week-ish. We are paying only 20 of that. Mike

I don't really care how much we are paying him as long as he stays injury free, puts in solid shifts at LB and frees BCF's favourite player to put in some magic down the other end of the pitch.

He got his first 10 mins last night and escaped injury. :surrender:
